Dallas Stars center Tyler Seguin has begun skating with the team and could return to game action in less than a week, head coach Lindy Ruff said Thursday.

Seguin has not played since he injured his knee on a low hit by Florida Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov on Feb. 13. Kulikov was suspended for four games.

"Tyler really is closing in on day-to-day for us," Ruff said, according to NHL.com. "I would say probably within a week or sooner. Depends how he responds to some heavy workouts here today, tomorrow."

The team said at the time of his injury that Seguin would miss three to six weeks.

Despite missing the last ten games, Seguin is currently eighth in the NHL with 29 goals.

The Stars have only won three games since Seguin's injury and are currently eight games behind the Winnipeg Jets for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
