NHL announces schedule scenarios for second playoff round
The NHL has announced the schedule for the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, pending the result of Wednesday’s Game 7 between the Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Regardless of whether Detroit or Tampa Bay advances, the winner’s series against the Montreal Canadiens will begin on Friday. The other Eastern Conference series between the New York Rangers and Washington Capitals begins on Thursday.
The Western Conference semifinal between the Anaheim Ducks and Calgary Flames starts Thursday. The Chicago Blackhawks will open their matchup with the Minnesota Wild on Friday.
The second round will conclude no later than May 14.
