Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky has been suspended for one game.

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Dubinsky has been suspended one game for cross checking Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby, the team announced Saturday. 

Dubinsky​ cross-checked Crosby in the second period of Friday’s game between the Blue Jackets and Penguins. Dubinsky​ was assessed a two-minute minor for the check, which hit Crosby in his neck and broke Dubinsky​’s stick. 

Dubinsky’s suspension will cost him over $30,000, which will be sent to Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund. The forward has recorded 12 points on four goals and eight assists for the Blue Jackets so far this season. 

Crosby has five goals and nine assists for the Penguins. Columbus in last place—seven points behind Pittsburgh—in the Metropolitan division.
