St. John’s IceCaps center Bud Holloway made what could be the save of the year at any level of hockey, pulling off a diving stick save to prevent an empty-net goal on Saturday.

Holloway made the save near the end of his team’s 4–1 loss to the Binghamton Senators. Cole Schneider of the Senators took what should have been an easy shot from the right side of the net, with no one seemingly close enough to stop it. Instead, Holloway launched himself off the ice, slapping the puck away at the last second.

Holloway is a former third round pick by the Los Angeles Kings. He currently plays as part of the Montreal Canadiens system.
