Tim Thomas leaves game with apparent leg injury

Florida Panthers goalie Tim Thomas has left tonight's game against the Philadelphia Flyers with an apparent leg injury.
Thomas came out to cut the angle down on a long blast by Philadelphia's Sean Couturier. As he pushed off his left leg, it crumpled under him, sending him to the ice and leaving an open net for Braydon Coburn to bury the rebound.
He immediately skated off the ice under his own power and headed to the Florida dressing room, slamming his stick as he got to the bench.
Thomas, 39, is attempting a comeback after a year out of hockey. He played well in an opening night win over Dallas, but allowed five goals on 28 shots to St. Louis before being pulled from his previous start. He looked awkward in allowing a goal to Brayden Schenn earlier in tonight's game. It seems likely the lack of a full training camp, as much as the year off, is starting to take a toll on the veteran.
