Unbelievable: Steven Stamkos skates one month after breaking leg

So where exactly did they find those doctors who repaired Steven Stamkos' fractured leg? Project K?

Even if the 23-year-old star doesn't have adamantium-enhanced bones, he's certainly made of sturdier stuff than the rest of us. Just four weeks after fracturing his leg in a sickening collision with a goal post, Stamkos was back on skates today in Tampa.

"Uh...medical advances, I guess," he said to a group of amazed reporters.

Stamkos hit the ice in a wind suit not so much to push the leg, but to work on some other elements of his game. "This is about keeping my hands loose, shooting some pucks," he said. He wasn't working the leg much, but the fact that he felt comfortable enough to make this effort is a sign that he's on track for a targeted return in early February, just in time for the Olympics.

"I'm feeling good," he said. "It's just nice to get back out there and...not feel pain. You don't want any setbacks at this point, but mentally it's such a good thing to get back out there, pass the puck around with a few guys."

He offers more insight into his progress in the post-skate video below:
