Sure hope Adam Oates wasn't watching Wednesday night's game between the Hurricanes and the Flyers.

The Capitals coach was apoplectic after Sharks rookie Tomas Hertl went between his legs to cap off a four-goal performance against the Rangers earlier this season, claiming it "disrespected" the integrity of the game.

Despite the hue and cry from some cranky fundamentalists, that bit of twig trickery inspired its share of imitators. This time it was Nathan Gerbe's turn to show off. The diminutive winger finished a second period breakaway with the dazzling deke, leaving Philly's Steve Mason flummoxed as the shot beat him high glove. A me-too moment? Maybe ... but it sure was fun to watch.
