New Jersey Devils forward Ryane Clowe left Monday's game with an apparent head injury and did not return.

Clowe took a hard hit at the blue line from the Florida Panthers' Quinton Howden with about a minute left in the second period. The hit sent Clowe flying into the boards, and NBCSN cameras later showed Devils trainers examining the forward on the bench.

Howden was not penalized for the hit.

This isn't Clowe's first head injury this season -- he missed 32 games earlier due to a concussion. The forward had posted three points with two assists and a goal in New Jersey's 6-3 win over the Panthers. Clowe has produced 26 points for the Devils, who are chasing one of the final spots in the East. The victory over Florida gave New Jersey 79 points -- three out of the last wild card spot in the East.
