San Antonio Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge has removed himself from consideration for the Olympic basketball team.

Spurs general manager RC Buford confirmed the news in a statement Monday, according to ESPN. ESPN’s Marc Stein first reported the development earlier Monday.

Aldridge has decided not to take part in the Rio games due to a hand injury. The forward entered the playoffs in April with a dislocated finger.

Aldridge recently completed his first season with the Spurs. He played in 74 games during the regular season, averaging 18 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.

Aldridge is not the only star to remove himself from consideration for Team USA. Warriors guard and NBA MVP Stephen Curry also announced earlier Monday he would not take part in Rio, with Andre Igoudala and Klay Thompson reportedly considering the same.
