LeBron James will sit out the Rio Olympics, reports Cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon.

James’s agent Rich Paul informed USA Basketball about James's decision Thursday. James told Vardon he could “use the rest.”

James recently completed his 13th season in the NBA, which ended in his third championship as his Cavaliers knocked off the Warriors in the Finals. James, now a three-time Finals MVP, has been a member of the national team since 2004.

James averaged 13.3 points, 5.6 assists and 5.6 rebounds at the London Olympics. He is tied with David Robinson for most Olympics games played among American players with 24.
