Report: Kyrie Irving to play in Rio Olympics

Kyrie Irving has reportedly accepted an invitation to play for Team USA in the Olympics.

Kyrie Irving has accepted an invitation to play for Team USA in the Olympics, ESPN’s Marc Stein reports.

The Cavaliers point guard, fresh off an NBA title, will return to USA Basketball after winning MVP honors and leading the Americans to gold at the 2014 World Cup.

With the report of Irving’s commitment, there are now reports filling out all 12 spots on the U.S. roster. The team appears to be as follows:

Guards: Irving, Kyle Lowry (Raptors), Klay Thompson (Warriors), DeMar DeRozan (Raptors), Jimmy Butler (Bulls)

Forwards: Carmelo Anthony (Knicks), Kevin Durant (Thunder), Paul George (Pacers), Draymond Green (Warriors), Harrison Barnes (Warriors)

Centers: DeMarcus Cousins (Kings), DeAndre Jordan (Clippers)

USA Basketball will announce its roster for the Olympics on Monday.
