Mexico kept pace with World Cup host Brazil atop Group A, defeating Cameroon 1-0 on the strength of a second-half goal by Oribe Peralta. Mexico was hard done on two calls in the first half, with both wiping would-be Giovani dos Santos goals off the board, but they battled back to overcome the Indomitable Lions, who had a late equalizer attempt thwarted by a diving save from Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa.
