Miroslav Klose extends his leg to score the 15th World Cup goal of his career, tying the record held by former Brazil star Ronaldo.

FORTALEZA, Brazil (AP) - Veteran German striker Miroslav Klose has the World Cup goal record after scoring as a substitute against Ghana on Saturday. The 36-year-old Klose made it 2-2 for Germany in the 71st minute for his 15th career World Cup goal, equaling the mark set by former Brazil striker Ronaldo.

Klose scored just two minutes after coming on as a substitute for goal scorer Mario Gotze, sliding to knock a flicked-on corner into the roof of the net. He celebrated the record with a trademark acrobatic flip.

''It was complete, but I can't remember the last time I did it,'' Klose said of the backflip. ''Still, 15 goals in 20 matches, that's not bad. But the important thing is to play well against the United States.''

He also broke a tie with former Germany star Gerd Muller for second-most all time. Klose had recently passed Muller's record for most international goals by a German, which was 68. Klose now has 70 international tallies.

Germany's draw means the United States would advance from Group G if it beats Portugal on Sunday.
