Injured Brazilian star Neymar said he will be rooting for Argentina and Lionel Messi in this Sunday's World Cup final against Germany.

Brazil was humiliated 7-1 in their semifinal match against Germany on Wednesday.

Neymar did not play in the contest after suffering a cracked vertebra when he was kneed in the back by Colombian defender Juan Zuniga in the team's quarterfinal match.

The two are teammates for FC Barcelona.

"Messi's history in the sport is so important, he has won a lot of trophies and I will be cheering for him," Neymar said, via FIFA.com. "He is a friend, he is my teammate and I wish him luck."
