Italy's Nicola Rizzoli will referee the FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Germany, FIFA announced Friday.

Rizzoli has refereed three matches at the 2014 World Cup, including the quarterfinal between Argentina and Belgium. He also refereed Argentina's group match against Nigeria.

Two fellow Italians, Renato Faverani and Andrea Stefani, join Rizzoli's crew. Rounding out the group is fourth official Carlos Vera, an Ecuadorian.

Rizzoli had refereed qualifying matches prior to the 2010 and 2014 World Cups as well as the 2013 Champions League final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

The FIFA World Cup Final will take place Sunday at 3 p.m. ET at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
