The time was right for Liverpool to sell striker Luis Suarez to Barcelona, Liverpool owner John Henry told NBC.

"It was time for Luis and time for the club to make a break," Henry said. "He brought so much to the team, but I think that we brought a lot to Luis. I think you'll still see a very explosive offense."

In August 2013, Suarez said he wanted to leave Liverpool, but Henry responded that Liverpool "[had] no intention" of selling him.

As punishment for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini, Suarez is facing a four-month ban from all soccer activity and is will miss the start of Barcelona's La Liga season.
