Brazilian striker Neymar says his back is almost 100 percent after suffering an injury at last month’s World Cup.

Neymar missed the remainder of the World Cup when he suffered a fractured vertebra after a hit from Colombia defender Juan Camilo Zuniga in the teams' quarterfinal match.

Neymar is in Japan filming a commercial for a mattress company and hundreds of fans greeted him at Tokyo's Haneda Airport.

"It's all good. My back is improving. It's almost 100 percent," Neymar said, via the Associated Press. "I'm looking forward to joining my (Barcelona) teammates and helping them win the title."

Barcelona’s season starts Aug. 24. It is unclear if Neymar will be ready to play by then.
