Sunderland has signed midfielder Jack Rodwell to a five-year deal, the team announced Tuesday.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, though the BBC reported the transfer fee is thought to be approximately £10 million.
Rodwell spent the past two seasons playing for Manchester City, making 26 total appearances and scoring two goals. He played in just 10 games last season due to multiple hamstring injuries.
Prior to his time at City, the 23-year-old made 109 appearances for Everton.
Sunderland finished 14th in the Premier League last season.
