Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has injured his hamstring and is expected to be out for about four weeks, the team announced Wednesday.
The 19-year-old signed with United in June after 67 appearances with Southampton. He was a member of England's 2014 World Cup team and appeared in one game in Brazil.

Shaw sat out of a friendly against Valencia on Tuesday due to the hamstring issue.
The team also confirmed that Shaw will wear No. 3 upon his return to the field.
United begins Premier League play on Saturday against Swansea City.
