Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud had surgery Wednesday and will be out for 3-4 months, the team announced.
Giroud fractured his ankle in the final minute of extra time of the club's 2-2 draw with Everton. He came off the bench to score a header in the 90th minute.

In Wednesday's Champions league qualifier against Besiktas, Alexis Sanchez played in place of Giroud and scored the game's lone goal in the 45th minute of the match.
Early Wednesday, BBC Sport reported that the club was unlikely to sign another striker to fill in for Giroud.
The 27-year-old scored 16 goals in 36 Premier League games for Arsenal last season.
