Midfielder Xabi Alonso is poised to join Bayern Munich from Real Madrid, Bayern Munich announced Thursday.
The club said Alonso and Bayern have agreed "in principle" on a transfer and a deal is expected to be done within a couple of days. Alonso is expected to travel to Munich to complete a physical.
“It is correct that we are in friendly and final talks with Real Madrid and will hopefully reach agreement in the next day or two,” Bayern deputy chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen said.
