England's Jordan Henderson injures ankle, could miss Euro qualifier
England midfielder Jordan Henderson injured his ankle in training Sunday and could miss the team's Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland on Monday, according to multiple reports.
The Guardian reports that Henderson sustained the injury while trying to evade a tackle attempt and was forced to hobble off the field. James Milner took over for Henderson in the practice and could replace him in the lineup against Switzerland if the Liverpool midfielder can't play.
Henderson, 24, has made 14 appearances for the England national team, including two starts in the team's three games at this summer's FIFA World Cup.
England is already without Daniel Sturridge against Switzerland after the striker injured his thigh last week.
England defeated Norway 1-0 in a friendly last Wednesday in its first match since the World Cup.
