The San Siro in Milan will host the 2016 Champions League final, UEFA announced Thursday.

Milan previously hosted the Champions League final in 2001. The city also hosted European Cup finals in 1965 and 1970​.

The UEFA executive committee also selected St. Jakob-Park in Basel to host the 2016 Europa League final.

This year's Champions League group stage began on Tuesday, and the 2015 Champions League final will be held at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. Real Madrid won last season's tournament, defeating La Liga rival Atletico Madrid 4-1 in the final.
