Bayern Munich got off to a good start in Group E play with a 1-0 win over Manchester City, while CSKA Moscow dropped a 5-1 decision to AS Roma. The two sides meet at Arena Khimki on Tuesday.

Bayern’s goal came from Jerome Boateng against Man City, while CSKA’s lone tally came from Ahmed Musa. Bayern’s list of includes defender Holger Badstuber and midfielders Javi Martinez, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Thiago Alcantara, while midfielder Franck Ribery is doubtful. CSKA will play without suspended midfielders Alan Dzagoev and Pontus Wernbloom. Injured and unable to play are midfielder Rasmus Elm, defender Georgi Schennikov and forward Vitinho, with midfielder Aleksandrs Cauna listed as doubtful.

Bayern was a semifinalist in the 2013-14 Champions League, losing to Real Madrid 5-0 on aggregate. CSKA failed to advance to the knockout stage last year.

CSKA is 2-0-0 at home against German competition, with wins over Hamburger SV in the 2006-07 Champions League and 2-1 over VfL Wolfsburg in the 2009-10 Champions League.

They are just 1-5-1 in their last seven home UEFA competitions played in Moscow.

Ahmed Musa has four goals in his last four games for CSKA.

CKSA is 8-1 in their last nine home matches across all competitions, dating to mid-April. The only defeat was a 1-0 loss to FC Spartak Moskva in August.
