After playing to a 1-1 draw against Ecuador on Friday, the U.S. men’s national team heads to FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla., on Tuesday to host Honduras in an international friendly. Mix Diskerud scored in the fifth minute to put the U.S. up 1-0 against Ecuador on Friday, but the visitors tied the match in the 88th minute on a goal by Enner Valencia. Landon Donovan, who was making his final international appearance, captained the squad for the match.
American winger Joe Gyau was injured in the match against Ecuador and will be out until January, Jurgen Klinsmann said.
The U.S. is 14-4-3 all-time against Honduras, with the last match between the two teams resulting in a 3-1 United States victory on July 24, 2013, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
