Chelsea welcomes NK Maribor to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, Oct. 21 in Matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League. Chelsea currently sits atop its group, with a win over Sporting Lisbon and a draw with Schalke 04. Maribor also drew with Schalke, but the club failed to defeat Sporting Lisbon and earned its second draw of the competition.

Both teams are competing in Group G.

Chelsea facts

Last season, Chelsea advanced past the group stage of the tournament before falling to eventual runners-up Atletico Madrid in the semifinals. Along the way, Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray. 

Chelsea is the only team in Group G to have earned a win after the first two Matchdays.

The Blues have won the Champions League once and are the only London-based club to do so.  

Stamford Bridge holds 41,837 fans and has been the home of Chelsea since the club was founded in 1905.

Chelsea has been named the seventh-most valuable football club in the world by Forbes, with a value of more than $900 million.

The Blues have won 23 domestic titles and five European championships. 

Maribor Facts

Maribor is tied with German side Schalke 04 for second-place in Group G. Both sides have two points thanks to two draws. 

NK Maribor is the most successful Slovenian club in the country's history, with 12 Slovenian championships and eight Slovenian Cup titles. Both numbers are records for Slovenian football. Maribor also holds the record for consecutive league titles with seven.

Maribor is tied with Chelsea and Schalke 04 for most goals in the group with two.

This year marks the second time that Maribor has qualified for the Champions League.
