CSKA Moscow vs. Manchester City
Two teams off to slow starts in Group E of the UEFA Champions League group play stage face off Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Arena Khimki in suburban Moscow when Manchester City visits CSKA Moscow.
The hosts have lost their first two matches in group play, including a 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich on Sept. 30 at Arena Khimki. Manchester City is third in the group with an 0-1-1 record after drawing with Roma on Sept. 30 at Etihad Stadium. Man City has just one goal thus far in group play, scored by Sergio Aguero. Ahmed Musa has the only goal for CSKA.

Manchester City facts
Manchester City’s run to the round of 16 in last year’s Champions League included two wins over CSKA Moscow in group play.
Defender Eliaquim Mangala has a stomach injury, and midfielder Samir Nasri is dealing with an injured groin. Both are doubtful for the match.
Last year was the first time City advanced past the group stage in Champions League play. They had been eliminated before the knockout stage in 2012 and 2013 and went out in the first round of the old European Cup in 1968-69.
City is unbeaten in five matches since its 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the first group stage match.
Sergio Aguero has scored in each of his last three appearances for City.
CSKA Moscow facts
CSKA Moscow was eliminated in the group stage of last year’s Champions League. Its best finish was reaching the quarterfinals in 2010.
Midfielders Alan Dzagoev and Pontus Wernbloom are suspended for this match. This game is the last of their three-match bans from UEFA club competition.
Four CSKA players are injured for this match: Midfielders Aleksandrs Cauna and Rasmus Elm and forwards Kirill Panchenko and Vitinho.
CSKA has won just one of their last six Champions League matches at home. That match that was played in St. Petersburg last season when Arena Khimki’s pitch was unplayable.
These same teams also met on the third matchday in last year’s group stage, with City coming from behind for a 2-1 win.
