Former U.S. women’s national team star Mia Hamm has been named to Italian football club AS Roma’s board of directors, the club announced.

The 42-year-old is a two-time FIFA World Player of the Year and the first woman to be inducted into the World Football Hall of Fame. While playing for the USWNT, she helped lead the team to two World Cup titles and three Olympic medals.

Hamm, along with Boston Bruins president Cam Neely, was nominated after former club president Thomas DiBenedetto and New York lawyer Joe Tacopina left the board.
