Basel needs just a win or a draw against Liverpool to assure second place in Group B and advance.

Striker Mario Balotelli is not expected to be available for the Reds due to injury.

Basel is led by Derlis González, who has two goals in Champions League matches. Four other players have also scored one goal apiece for the Swiss side.
In its Premier League match against Sunderland on Saturday, Rodgers decided to rest Gerrard and brought the Reds captain off the bench. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Basel has won two games and lost three in Champions League to put itself in second in Group B.
Liverpool is third in Group B, winning just one of its five games, drawing once and losing three times.
