On a day when Lionel Messi tied a pair of Spanish hat trick records, Luis Suarez managed to claim his rightful share of the spotlight.

Suarez put an exclamation point on Barcelona's 5-0 win over Levante on Sunday with an acrobatic, flying scissor-kick goal, capping the scoring in front of a delighted crowd at Camp Nou.

After Neymar opened the scoring and Messi tied Telmo Zarra's Spanish record for hat tricks (31) and Cristiano Ronaldo's La Liga record (23), Suarez latched onto a cross from the end line by Adriano by timing his launch and connecting with his left foot for an emphatic goal:

The goal was Suarez's seventh in all competitions in his first season with Barcelona and his fourth in league play. With two goals in his last two league matches, Suarez will look to continue his momentum into next weekend's match against Malaga and the ensuing Champions League round-of-16 encounter against former Premier League foe Manchester City a few days later.
