Chelsea took a 1-0 lead in the first leg of its Champions League knockout stage matchup with Paris Saint-Germain in unlikely fashion.

Despite Chelsea's abundance of attacking options, three Blues defenders created the team's first goal. John Terry crossed the ball into the box, Gary Cahill flicked it on and Branislav Ivanovic headed in the opening score.

Chelsea's 1-0 lead stood at halftime in Paris. The two teams also met in last year's Champions League, with Chelsea defeating PSG on away goals in the quarterfinals.
