Monaco grabbed a first-half lead over Arsenal in the two teams' round of 16 Champions League clash thanks to a long-range attempt that was redirected into the goal.

Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia took a long-range shot from well beyond the box, but his attempt deflected off Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker into the net.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina was left motionless in the goal as the ball sailed past him after the deflection.

Monaco maintained its 1-0 lead at the half.
