The United States U-17 national team continued its solid start to the CONCACAF U-17 Championship and appear to be on track for U-17 World Cup qualification with a 2-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago on Monday in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

Monterrey academy player Joe Gallardo put the Americans in the lead in the 31st minute off a free kick, and Haji Wright ensured the win with a breakaway goal in the 71st minute.

Gallardo's goal is the forward's fourth goal in the opening two games of the competition, after his hat trick in the U.S.'s 5-0 win over Cuba in the CONCACAF U-17 Championship's opening game. The tally puts Gallardo atop the goal scoring charts in the competition.

The U.S. now sits atop Group A, with the team's next game coming in three days against Guatemala.
