Tottenham Hotspur has granted striker Emmanuel Adebayor compassionate leave to deal with personal issues, reports The Telegraph.

According to the report, Adebayor has been excused from training this week and will not play in the team's final game of the season on Sunday.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Adebayor revealed that he contemplated committing suicide "many times" over a family feud with his brothers.

This is the second time this season that the 31-year-old has been given compassionate leave by Tottenham, as he was also granted it last December and returned to Togo.

Adebayor has one year remaining on his contract with Tottenham.
