Jordan Morris and Julian Green headline the U.S. Under-23 men's national team that will take to the field at the Toulon Tournament in France from May 27-June 7.

The tournament, an annual prestigious youth competition, serves as another step of preparation for October's CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament. U.S. manager Andi Herzog released a 19-man roster Sunday and will complete it with one more player on Tuesday night.

“Toulon is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world at this age level, and we’re fortunate to have the opportunity to compete against some of the top teams in the world,” Herzog said in a U.S. Soccer statement. “Having seen matches here many times before, I know the type of talent we will face. This is huge for us as we get ready for qualification this October, and is another step in the development of our players in international competition.”

The USA will play in Group A against host France, the Netherlands, Costa Rica and Qatar. Group B features Mexico, England, China, Morocco and Ivory Coast. The group winners will play in the final, while the two runner-ups will compete for third place.

Morris, the Stanford University star, scored as part of a 3-0 win over Mexico's U-23s in an April friendly, doing so a week after he scored against Mexico's senior national team. Green, who endured a rough club season on loan from Bayern Munich at Hamburg after scoring in the World Cup round of 16 last summer, joins the fold to augment the attack. Liverpool academy product Marc Pelosi enters the fray to anchor the midfield, while veteran goalkeeper Cody Cropper is expected to start between the posts.
