Lionel Messi worked his way past three Athletic Bilbao while sprinting down the right touchline before putting Barcelona up 1–0 in Saturday’s Copa del Rey final at the Camp Nou with a strong shot past goalkeeper Iago Herrerin.

The goal, a lefty strike from the right side of the box, came at the 20-minute mark and preceded Neymar’s goal at the 36-minute mark that gave Barcelona a 2–0 lead after the first half.

The goal was Messi’s 57th of the season, and it really was a work of art. After beating the three Bilbao defenders down the right wing, he cut inside past a fourth and took advantage of a narrow window to strike his shot past Herrerin and just inside the right post.
