U.S. women's national team forward Christen Press scored the USA's second goal of its Women's World Cup match against Australia.

Sydney Leroux made a nice run down the left side of the field and found Press alone in front of the net with a sliding pass. Press then knocked the ball into the goal on her first touch.

The goal gave the U.S. a 2–1 lead in the 60th minute. Press was then subbed off in the 68th minute and replaced by Tobin Heath.

It was Press's 21st career international goal and her first goal in World Cup competition.
