The U.S. women's national team will look to seal a trip to the World Cup final when it takes on Germany on Tuesday. 

The USA reached the semifinal after defeating China on Friday. Carli Lloyd scored the only goal of the game to give the Americans a 1-0 victory. 

Previously, the U.S. beat Colombia in the round of 16 after going undefeated in group play, winning two matches and drawing another. 

Germany obtained a semifinal berth after defeating France on penalties. France took the lead in the 64th minute, but Celia Sasic's 84th-minute penalty equalized for the Germans. Germany won the penalty shootout 5-4.
