The U.S. women's national team will meet Japan in the Women's World Cup final on Sunday, July 5. 

Japan is looking to defend its World Cup crown. The Japanese defeated the U.S. in the 2011 Women's World Cup final on penalties. 

The United States advanced to the World Cup final after defeating Germany 2–0 in the semifinal, while Japan advanced after a 2–1 victory over England. 

Neither Japan nor the United States has lost a match in the 2015 Women's World Cup. The Japanese have won every match in which they've played, while the U.S. drew one match with Sweden in group play.
