Liverpool has signed forward Christian Benteke from Aston Villa, the club announced on Wednesday.
The BBC reports that the signing was worth £32.5m ($50.7 million) and that it is a long-term contract for Benteke.
Benteke scored 13 goals and added two assists in 29 Premier League games for Aston Villa in 2014–15. In three seasons with Aston Villa, he recorded 42 goals in 89 Premier League appearances.
“I'm very happy to be here and I would like to thank the owners, Ian [Ayre] and of course the manager [Brendan Rodgers] for their massive effort to bring me here,” said Benteke.
The 24-year-old has also been a member of the Belgium national team since 2010.
The move marks another change in the Reds' attacking corps. Earlier this month, Liverpool sent forward Raheem Sterling to Manchester City in a deal worth around $76 million. Sterling scored in his Manchester City debut against Roma in an International Champions Cup friendly on Tuesday.
Liverpool signed Brazil forward Roberto Firmino to a long-term contract in June.
