Malmo surprised Celtic with a 2-0 win in the second leg of their Champions League playoff to overturn a 3-2 first-leg loss in Scotland and reach the group stage.

Markus Rosenberg scored in the 23rd minute to put Malmo ahead on away goals, and an own goal by Dedryk Boyata sealed the Scottish side's fate and sent the Swedish club through.

Elsewhere, Maccabi Tel Aviv's Eran Zahavi scored his third goal of the tie to earn a 1-1 draw at Basel and send his team through 3-3 on away goals. Luca Zuffi had put Basel ahead in the 11th minute and looking primed for a return to the group stage, but Zahavi's seventh goal in the qualifying round 13 minutes later stunned the Swiss hosts and secured the Israeli side's return to the Champions League proper for the first time in 11 years.

Dinamo Zagreb was the only side to avoid an edgy evening, beating Albania's Skenderbeu 4-1 to ease to a 6-2 aggregate win. El Arbi Hillel Soudani scored twice and assisted on another to seal the Croatian club's place in the group stage.

The group phase draw takes place on Thursday.
