Sunderland midfielder Yann M'Vila gave the Black Cats the lead over Aston Villa in the 8th minute on Saturday with a gorgeous free kick.

The 25-year-old Frenchman, who is on loan from Russian club Rubin Kazan, unleashed a bending effort just outside the right side of the 18-yard-box that beat U.S. international goalkeeper Brad Guzan.

The lead would be short-lived however, as Villa would respond just three minutes later via a Scott Sinclair penalty kick. Sinclair would add another in the 41st minute, but the match would finish level at 2–2 after Jeremain Lens equalized for Sunderland in the 52nd. Sunderland earned a point but remains winless (0-2-2) four games into the 2015–16 campaign. Aston Villa is 1-1-2.
