Midfielder Adnan Januzaj has signed with Borussia Dortmund on a season loan from Manchester United, Dortmund announced Monday.

Januzaj confirmed the signing on Twitter.

The Guardian reports Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal had a “change of heart” about Januzaj's capability of playing in an increased role for the team this season. Januzaj will now move to the Bundesliga, his contract with Dortmund is through June of next year.

“Borussia Dortmund is a great club, the fans here are supposed to be really incredible,” Januzaj told the team website. “I want to achieve great things with the team,” he added.

Januzaj had been with Manchester United since 2013, making 60 appearances and scoring five goals for the club. Dortmund is currently first in the Budesliga standings.
