Manchester United's Memphis Depay said he would celebrate if he scored in his return to PSV Eindhoven, and he earned the opportunity to do so on his old home turf.

In his first game against PSV since joining Manchester United in the summer, Depay opened the scoring in their Champions League Group B encounter on Tuesday. Depay cut through the PSV defense in the box and then calmly slotted his attempt by Jeroen Zoet to put Manchester United on top 1-0. He kept his celebration muted, simply pointing both index fingers up to the sky as his teammates came to congratulate him.

His celebration was short-lived, as Mexico's Hector Moreno scored prior to halftime to send the teams into the locker room level at 1-1.

It was Depay's third goal of the Champions League, with his brace in the first leg of the qualifying round against Club Brugge helping Manchester United return to the group stage following last season's absence. Depay has yet to score in Premier League play for the Red Devils.
