The U.S. and Mexico men's national teams meet for another chapter in their storied rivalry Saturday night, and it's one of the more meaningful clashes between the two border nations.

USA and Mexico play each other relatively frequently, but there aren't always high stakes on the line. Friendlies are what they are, and even World Cup qualifiers don't necessarily carry the same do-or-die element that is in play at the Rose Bowl. The winner in California takes CONCACAF's berth in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and regional and rivalry bragging rights heading into 2018 World Cup qualifying.

While Mexico controlled the rivalry from the start, the U.S. has battled back and earned its fair share of memorable triumphs, including the only World Cup meeting between the two sides, in the 2002 round of 16.
