The last time Barcelona and Roma met in the Champions League Group Stage on Sept. 16, the match ended with a 1–1 draw.
Entering Tuesday's rematch, Barcelona is coming off of a huge 4–0 victory against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in last weekend’s Clasico. The match saw the return of Lionel Messi, who came on as a substitute.
A win for Barcelona against Roma would secure a spot in the Champions League knockout round and first place in the group stage. Barcelona currently leads Group E with 10 points, while Roma has five. Barcelona is looking to defend its 2014–15 Champions League title.
Roma is dealing with a number of injuries that will hamper the team against Barcelona. Francesco Totti, Mohamed Salah and Gervinho, all key players, will miss the match due to injury.
