U.S. men's national team center back John Brooks scored in the 65th minute for Hertha Berlin Wednesday, helping the club reach the quarterfinals of the German Cup (DFB Pokal) after a 2-0 win over Nurnberg.

For Brooks, the goal is his second in three games after not scoring at all for his club in almost entire year, last finding the net on Dec. 17, 2014, in a Bundesliga game against Eintracht Frankfurt (Brooks did score for the U.S. in a friendly against the Netherlands back in June).

Brooks scored as he did against Ghana in the 2014 World Cup, on a header off a corner kick, doubling Hertha Berlin's lead after Vladimir Darida scored in the 32nd minute. It was Darida's corner kick that Brooks met with a near-post run before directing his leaping header on frame.
