Lionel Messi equalized in the first half for Barcelona against Atletico Madrid on Saturday, clinically knotting the score at 1–1 in the 29th minute.

With the ball in the final third, Neymar played Jordi Alba into the box down the left side. Alba centered perfectly for Messi, who timed a late run into a pocket of space in front of goal and finished perfectly into the bottom-left corner.

Messi caught Jan Oblak flat-footed and tied things up.

Shortly afterward, Luis Suarez scored to give Barcelona the 2–1 lead.
