Arsenal is angling to sign Leicester City star Jamie Vardy by triggering a release clause in the striker’s contract, Stuart James of The Guardian reported on Friday.

James says Leicester is “determined” to retain Vardy, who scored 24 goals in 36 appearances in the Premier League last season, and galvanized Leicester to an improbable EPL title.

Reports have Vardy’s release clause ranging from £20 to £22 million (in the range of $30 million).

Arsenal finished second in the Premier League last season with Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck as their main options up front.
