Evidently, Chicharito is a big fan of Houston Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt.
While in Houston with the Mexican national team for its Copa America Group C finale against Venezuela, Chicharito got to meet the NFL standout, with Watt presenting him with a signed jersey. Chicharito, ever so gracious, thanked Watt repeatedly, presented him with a signed ball from the whole Mexican team and vowed to give him his game jersey following Mexico's match at NRG Stadium Monday night.
After posing for photos Watt walked away, and Chicharito marveled at the Watt jersey like a child who had just met his idol, fanned the jersey while exclaiming "J.J. Watt!" and twisted it like a helicopter around his head.
Watt and the Texans will be paying a visit to Estadio Azteca on Nov. 21 to face the Oakland Raiders in a unique regular-season game in Mexico. That falls a week after the FIFA international window, though, so Chicharito is unlikely to be there for a reunion.
As for Chicharito on the field at Copa America, if he scores one more goal, he'll tie Jared Borgetti's Mexico record of 46. He pulled within one in Mexico's 2-0 triumph over Jamaica in its last group match. Mexico will take first place in Group C with a win or draw against the surprising Vinotinto. Both teams have beaten Uruguay and Jamaica thus far.
